To take Part Two you will have completed Part One.

Course Requirements:

A one day classroom session on Saturday lasting about four hours, including a drive by the course trainer.

1/ A PowerPoint presentation on what is Advanced Driving.

2/ A PowerPoint introduction to Tutoring.

Break.

3/ A PowerPoint introduction to Part Three.

4/ Session comprising of a drive by the course trainer, where instructional techniques will be discussed, during which a break will take place.

5/ You will be required to watch Chris Gilbert's DVD, Ultimate Driving Craft at home.    

You will need at the end of this day a copy of the manual for Tutor Training, which is downloadable below.

6/ The need to check driving licence, MOT (if required), vehicle licence (tax), walk around to check overall vehicle condition, tyres and eyesight check. The eyesight check is to read a new style number plate at a minimum 20 meters, if glasses are used they must be worn while driving. 

7/ Required reading will be "The Driving Instructors Handbook" by John Miller and Margaret Stacey, a copy will be provided at the end of part two.

The objective of Part Two is to introduce you to Part Three. There is no test. 

When you have completed these modules by attending, and seen 'Ultimate Driving Craft', by Chris Gilbert. You are now ready for Part Three.

Chris Gilbert is considered one of the very top advanced driving instructors in the UK, with unsurpassed experience in the field of driver training dating back to 1964 as an RAC Registered Driving Instructor. He has appeared in several TV programs, taught hundreds of 'L' drivers, lorry drivers, coach drivers,  ministerial (PM) drivers, hundreds of police officers, high speed/advanced/pursuit driving and trained class 1 police drivers to become class 1 police driving instructors. He was also a member of the Home Office Working Party involved in the updating the police driver's manual, Roadcraft.

He is a former DSA trained Delegated  LGV/PCV Driving Examiner and a current DSA Approved Driving Instructor with the highest grading obtainable, the coveted grade 6.
